We use these phrases all the time – dream garage, ultimate two-car garage – and they don’t really stand up very well to rigorous linguistic analysis.
For a start, pedantically, not many of us actually keep cars in garages. A quick audit of mine reveals, among other delights, two bicycles, one scooter, a desk, a workbench, seven tool boxes, two big sets of shelves groaning with DIY and camping gear, a crate of home-made mead, a really nice ladder that I’ve never used and a neat row of hooks holding massive heavy-duty spanners that will come in handy if I ever find myself working on a diesel-engined ferry.
