We’re delighted to share with you the wedding of Briar and Mike, our 2018 Wedding of the Year winners. The couple wanted a beautiful autumn wedding at home that reflected their personalities and love for one another. They certainly achieved this, and more! Briar tells us about their special day… ‘The family dairy farm provided the perfect location for our wedding, with a large marquee set on the rolling hills giving us the creative freedom to have our dream day. Hours and hours of preparation went into creating our rustic DIY setting. Kim and Max were married in a gorgeous church ceremony before partying the night away at a nearby yacht club. The couple expressed so much gratitude for the special people that made up their wedding party, and spent their wedding day having the best time together. And, didn’t they look fantastic! Rose and Aleks met through rowing at Syracuse University in New York, became engaged and then moved to New Zealand, where Rose grew up. They shared a magical wedding day with friends and family from all over the world. Rose tells us about their special day… Nature is where Aleks and I both feel happiest and we really wanted to have a classic Kiwi wedding, so we chose the beautiful rural Jonkers Farm with stunning west coast views and rustic setting, and a TopKata marquee. When I was newly engaged, a rather frightening realisation struck me. I would soon be in the spotlight at my own wedding and the centre of attention – a place no shy person like me would normally like to be. Family and fun played a central role in the beautiful garden wedding of Sarah and Jono. Sarah shares details of their happy celebration… Jono and I got married in front of 97 of our closest friends and family members. Despite a flooded venue, road slips and a Civil Defense warning, Frances and Ben remained happy and positive as they celebrated their amazing wedding day.
