The Munich design team is less than a year old. At present it is 35-strong and, as we write, they are moving from temporary premises to new Qoros Design offices in the heart of the industrial centre opposite the Olympic district. The team includes designers, 3D modellers, visualisers, design engineers, graphic designers plus class-A surface specialists, a branch of design that originated in the marine industry and is concerned with surfaces that cannot be defined with mathematical formulae, such as those on boats, and more and more frequently, cars. Philipp Eberl, head of the Munich studio, comments: “It’s a veritable Tower of Babel.
