Pathfinder Railtours has announced a series of four trains that will run during the second half of 2024 using ex-BR heritage traction.
On Wednesday August 14, Class 52 D1015 Western Champion will run from Tame Bridge Parkway to Weymouth via Cheltenham Spa, Swindon, Basingstoke, Bournemouth and Poole. This train will be operated by GB Railfreight.
There are also two tours planned with the Class 40 Preservation Society’s D345.
On October 19, D345 runs from Burton and will cover the Hope Valley Line, the South Yorkshire Joint Line to Doncaster, and the Monk Bretton Branch.
A West Coast Railways (WCR) Class 37 is also involved on this day out.
