I THINK THE latest Kawasaki Z1000 should have been just like the bike that I’ve created. I’ve built it over a number of years, mainly using parts from my old racebikes, and other bits that I’ve acquired.
“It started life as a 2005, first-generation ZX-10R and has since been treated to BST carbon wheels, and an ex-BSB Vivaldi Racing swingarm and Brembo calipers with bigger discs. It also has K-Tech forks, an Öhlins rear shock, a flashed ECU, different bellmouths and a quickshifter fitted.
“There’s also a Nova close-ratio gearbox, plus Renthal bars, and I’ve gone down one tooth on the front sprocket.
“I use it for touring, hillclimbs and trackdays, I’m even thinking of getting an old-school Eddie Lawson paintjob to finish the bioke off,…
