A study by scientists at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland measured the physical activity of nearly 200 people aged 60 to 69. The team says they discovered those who engaged in the least physical activity — defined as less than six minutes of moderate to vigorous workouts daily and more than 30 minutes a day in “sedentary behaviors,” such as sitting and watching TV — showed hearing loss was equal to ten-plus years of their actual age. “These findings suggest promoting physical activity among older adults with hearing loss is important, and further research is needed to investigate whether hearing loss interventions could improve physical health profiles,” writes the study’s authors.…
