I’m particularly proud of this edition of the magazine because it’s full of fine articles and good stories from near and far that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you. Actually, we rarely feature a “living room theme” here at the magazine and that’s quite strange, knowing just how much time most of us spend in that room. Also, the living room is the room that we show to our guests. For this reason, we’ve done our best to find a selection of living rooms for you that’ll hopefully inspire you to renovate your own living room. Here at Kærby Mølle, we’ve got two living rooms. One of them is our TV room, the other one is a bay window – or a kind of landing – at the top of the house where we’ve got lots of windows and a wonderful view of the lake and the creek. We decided to turn this area into a conservatory with lots of plants and old wicker furniture, allowing us to sit and read, enjoy the view, take a nap or invite guests for a glass of wine. This room is sunny almost all day long so the plants thrive very well – they just need plenty of water. The colors just outside the windows have been brought into the living room. This big, beautiful, red house from 1849 is a Swedish “Västerbottensgård” - an old farm. The house features two levels, a beautiful veranda and double doors for a warm welcome. This classic “Västerbottensgård” looks very inviting. This is where Eva and her husband Stefan live. They have a large living room featuring a big fireplace and several sitting areas. Three big windows create a fantastic inflow of light in the room. The wooden flooring has been painted white and the walls have been painted light-gray. Eva loves natural materials such as linen and jute, and she’s got lots of wicker items as well. She often exchanges the pillow covers and blankets on the sofa according to season.
