Every year, we try to pull off the most outlandish idea we can for the Christmas road test. Matt Prior has done it again, this time driving a highly impressive, and frankly terrifying, feat of engineering: the JCB Digatron.
That’s just one example of the annual efforts, which begin in the summer, to make our Christmas bumper issue the most compelling yet. Alongside that monster truck, you will find three staffers competing in a Lego car-making challenge, another festive road trip by Richard Webber, in which he takes a tree with the help of an Ariel Nomad to the Hebridean island of Tiree (there’s a reason, promise), and an exploration of the world of radio-controlled car racing.
