SUVs are big business, especially in China, where the need to accommodate generations of people into one car is an important requirement. The Roewe Vision-E concept offers all of the conventional attributes of a conventional SUV, but it also offers would-be customers something more. The powertrain, to start, is a new all-electric SCUV platform. Electric and technology were the driving force when defining the exterior and interior design of the car, combined with Roewe’s ‘Rhythm Dynamic’ design philosophy and brand keywords: reduced, refined, extension and rhythmic. The future of farms, according to New Holland, might well be an innovative system that is rightfully sustainable. This concept, beneath its stylish outer designed in Turin by CNH Industrial designers, aims to make farmers completely energy independent. The tractor is fuelled by methane and a key element of the project consists of the development of a system for its production on site from energy crops, agricultural waste and waste from the food industry. This is what New Holland calls “a future-proof energy supply”, since the CO2 emission profile is practically zero and a production plant could supply not only tractors but also electricity generators and heating systems. Once again, passion for design marked every moment of the Autostyle Design Competition. Now in its fourteenth edition, the car design event - organised by Berman and its chairman Roberto Artioli in cooperation with Auto&Design and Wacom – did not delude its aficionados, giving participants opportunities for discussion and learning in a special context where the students of design schools were joined by some of the world's leading designers. 560 square metres of Sweden in the heart of the new Milan, just a short walk away from Piazza Gae Aulenti. These words could well be used to sum up the Volvo Design Studio Milano project, a veritable global concept that has been applied for the first time in the Lombard capital. Imagine future technologies in the development of highly innovative concept cars. This was the challenging theme that Seat assigned to thirty IED Turin and five IED Barcelona students for their degree course theses in Transportation Design. After an initial phase during which the concept was developed autonomously, the young designers shared their ideas with the working group before presenting their final proposals as a team. "Today's tractors have very similar proportions to those of the 30's and 40's, although they are completely different. Maybe it's time to change something."
