In last month’s column (see issue 375, p113), I mentioned I had attended FixFest 2025 (tinyurl.com/376fixfest), a two-day international repair conference organised by those lovely people at the Restart Project. Hundreds of fixers, evangelists, corporates, advocates, pioneers, activists, volunteers, at least one mayor and a Royal Society professor attended to talk, share, listen and learn.
A personal highlight was visiting Restart’s Fixing Factory in Hackney, a dedicated repair space that enables repair, reuse and waste reduction on the high street while generating the many societal benefits of repair spaces (for more information, see tinyurl.com/376making).
