THE ROODEPAN police are investigating the shooting deaths of a police couple after the husband and wife were involved in an apparent domestic dispute on Wednesday evening. According to the police, the husband reportedly shot and killed his wife and then turned the gun on himself. Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said that preliminary reports indicate that the couple were involved in a domestic dispute at their place of residence in Lerato Park on February 7, at about 11pm. According to complaints that were lodged this week by the chairperson of the municipal public accounts committee (MPAC), Sylvester Vukeya, “extravagant amounts” were approved for frivolous trips, including a school choir and dance competition, which held no benefit or relevance to the municipality. The lawsuit that was made against Block, his former legal representative, the late Dali Mjila, and another attorney, Nano Matlala, was reduced from an initial amount of R2.5 million.
