EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Yamaha have had a busy year so far, announcing the departure of the road-going R1 superbike in Europe, ushering in a whole host of new products, including a refreshed Ténéré 700, MT-07, and a new R9 supersport bike, and even finding the time to introduce the Y-AMT semi-automatic gearbox.
When they weren’t doing that, the Japanese brand were also investing in French two-wheeled off-road firm Electric Motion to partner on future product development, as well as working with British car company Caterham on parts for a new sports coupé.
They’ve also worked with racing firm Lola Cars on the production of electric powertrains for the Formula E world championship, and remain committed to achieving carbon neutrality on indirect greenhouse gas emissions from their activities by 2050.
