The Royal Albert Hall’s long-running Late Night Jazz series is set to return to the intimate surroundings of its venue-within-a-venue, the Elgar Room, on Thursday nights, with an intriguing, eclectic line-up. These include fusioneers PYJÆN (30 Sept, pictured), award winning four-piece Empirical (7 Oct), trumpeter Alexandra Ridout (pictured) and her Quintet (22 Dec), British-Eritrean singer Desta Haile (21 Oct), Sarah Vaughan vocal competition-winner Deelee Dubé (28 Oct), and bossa guitar/vocal veteran Earl Okin. There are also two nights as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival with pianist Al MacSween (19 Nov), and the sax/piano duo of Alcyona Mick and Tori Freestone (20 Nov), and a special The Shirt Tail Stompers’ Vintage Christmas Show (23 Dec).
