MICHAEL JACKSON’s buddy Bubbles — who lived with the King of Pop at his theme park–like Neverland Ranch — celebrated his 40th birthday at a Florida retirement home, where he’s been since 2005 after the singer gave him away.
The bash at the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Fla., was totally bananas featuring “a special ape-healthy cake,” according to the center’s director, Patti Ragan.
“We frosted it with mashed bananas and added a little bit of blue food coloring and then we wrote his name in blueberries.”
And befitting his name, he got to monkey around with lots of bubbles.
“We had tubs of bubble bath and paper bubbles everywhere,” says Ragan.
