A Itching of your vulva, the skin around your vagina, is common and usually temporary. It’s often due to irritation of sensitive skin in the area as the result of underwear rubbing, leaks of wee on to your skin, repeated scratching, excessive washing with soap or friction during sex.
Sometimes an infection, such as thrush or genital warts, is to blame, or an infestation with crab lice or threadworms. If you suffer from another skin condition, such as eczema, psoriasis or an allergy, then that could be the culprit. Other, rarer, causes can be more serious and your doctor can help pin these down.
