WE’RE driving the all-new VW Polo next week, so to whet our appetite we joined product marketing boss Dirk Weinerowski for a briefing on the supermini’s new tech.
With the Polo facing competition from the new Ford Fiesta and SEAT Ibiza recently, VW has made the model bigger, and introduced new on-board technology and safety systems to broaden its appeal. The car is based on the VW Group’s new MQB A0 platform, and is 81mm longer than before.
“We started talking to customers five years ago. Individualisation is important,” Weinerowski told us. “Of course, comfort, quality, safety and price are big points, too.”
