Here’s to a more present life
ON 10 OCTOBER, @NONHLEBERYL TWEETED, “The worst thing brought about by social media is that people no longer want to go through the stages of life. Twenty-three-year-olds want to have the same lifestyle as 33-year-olds. They want to afford the same things, and when they can’t, they think they’ve failed in life.” That tweet got me thinking about social media’s impact on how we see ourselves and our lives. A study earlier this year by Online Therapy revealed that six out of 10 people say social media affects them negatively. The respondents said it makes them feel anxious, dissatisfied with their lives, have negative feelings about their bodies, experience fear of missing out and feel depressed.
