1 When you get to the top of the heart, sew past the middle point, stopping ½in past the centre, and backstitch in place (Fig A). 2 Take the quilt away from your sewing machine. Using the stitched line you’ve just completed, turn the bias binding and pin it in place along the next side of the heart. There’s nothing better than cosying up when it's cold outside, so this issue I'm going to show you some tips and tricks to bring warmth to your colour palettes. Let's talk colour theory for a moment. Cool colours are colours that appear to recede from the eye of the viewer, seeming, well, cool and calm. They're typically shades of purple, blue and green. Warm colours are colours that seem to jump out at you, feeling warm and vibrant. These tend to be variations of yellow, orange or red and there's a myriad ways we can use them to warm up a cool palette. Let's look at some examples!
