And incredibly, he insists he has no regrets. The 75-yearold, who lives in a Liverpool duplex, also says he wouldn’t trade places with Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, even though the former Mop Top is now worth a staggering $300 million.

The way Johnny tells it, he was asked to join by the band’s manager, Brian Epstein, after playing a few gigs with the group. The date was Aug. 16, 1962, the same day the Beatles’ original drummer, Pete Best, got the boot.
