COLLECTING THE ATS
ATS items are fairly common, especially badges, though care should always be exercised when buying, especially via eBay, where good fakes proliferate. Reputable dealers and auctions are the best source, especially for uniform and medals. Really good uniform items are not quite as common as they were until fairly recently, and prices have risen also. However, there are good things out there for the discerning collector, such as those illustrated, and bargains can still be had too. At the time of writing there was a pre-1942 ATS Junior Commander’s tunic, badged to an AA unit, listed in an internet sale for only £50!
A fun project, badge-wise, is to acquire the easily-obtained cap/shoulder badges, and then the cloth sleeve badges of the different AA units to which…
