Blueberry-Orange Scones

Flavored with fresh orange zest, candied orange, and blueberries, these summery, buttermilk-based scones are positively delicious.
3 cups all-purpose flour¼ cup granulated sugar, divided4 teaspoons baking powder½ teaspoon fine sea salt½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed3 tablespoons minced candied orange1 cup cold whole buttermilk1 teaspoon fresh orange zest½ cup fresh blueberries1 large egg, lightly beaten
• Preheat oven to 375°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
• In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry blender or 2 forks, cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in candied orange.
