“I was always told off for talking at school,” she says. “But I do really like having a chat.”
This, you’d think, would be a plus point for someone with aspirations to work in radio, but Esi wasn’t so sure initially.
“When I started doing my first breakfast show, I wondered if it would work,” she continues. “Traditionally, you need real energy on a breakfast slot, and my style is more conversational and chill.”
