It’s hard not be impressed by the Super Duke GT. It’s fast, involving and sporty, yet easy to control, comfortable at all speeds and loaded with easy-life whatnots. The trouble is the H2 SX SE+ is more luxurious. The KTM’s switches feel flimsier, changes are clunkier, suspension isn’t as plush. It’s Ike a £12k model festooned with extras, rather than a 17-grand bike.
That’s what’s special with the Kawasaki. It’s eye-wateringly pricey, but the sumptuous ride, tech, controls, finish and unique blown power feel like a £23,000 bike. It’s heavy, yes, but no other bike has this mix of usability, quality, comfort and blistering roll-on speed. Or a blower.
Actually, that’s not true. The base H2 SX shares the sensations of the SE+, and though it hasn’t got touch-button suspension…
