The Toyota Sunrader is a pint-size truck with a four-cylinder engine and a fiberglass shell plopped on back where the pickup bed would have been. At 18 feet, the truck is overloaded, underpowered, and crammed with amenities. There’s a wet bath, fridge/freezer combo, ducted heater, panoramic windows, four-burner stove with oven, and damn near a queen bed in the overcab. It hardly makes sense, but the beauty lies in the truck’s simplicity. With a number 10,12 and 14 wrench, you can nearly dismantle the entirety of the vehicle. It was this pragmatism that first gave me goosebumps and sparked my infatuation with this stupid little truck.
