When Marjorie Lamb heard about Captain Tom Moore walking 100 laps of his garden for the NHS, she felt motivated to do the same. And so, last month, Marjorie – who, like Tom, is a World War II veteran – began walking three laps of her garden every day.
The 99-year-old, who was a Wren in the Women’s Royal Naval Service, hopes to have completed her challenge by her 100th birthday, on 31 May.
Marjorie says, “I still love walking, so when I told my family I was going to do the challenge, they weren’t shocked. Captain Tom seems like a lovely chap, and I thought, ‘If he can do it, then why can’t I?’
