Some of the world’s best young gymnasts recently took part in the first Junior World Championships for trampoline, tumbling and double mini trampoline (DMT). Held in Birmingham, England, the event was for athletes aged 13 to 16. Great Britain won gold, silver and bronze medals.
In trampoline events, a gymnast performs a routine of somersaults and twists as they bounce. This can be done by one person, called individual, or by two at the same time, known as synchronised. Tumbling is a fast sport where a gymnast does a series of continuous acrobatic moves on a long and narrow track.
