I peered through my binoculars and spotted a sea eagle soaring high up in the sky.
So beautiful, I thought, admiringly.
It was 1990, and I was a regular at my local birdwatching evening class.
Being out in nature, spotting beautiful birds, and making new friends was one of my favourite ways to spend my time.
The group was soon to head off on a day trip, and I couldn’t wait.
But a couple of days later, I fell off a horse and broke my collarbone, so I couldn’t drive.
