Harley-Davidson’s blacked-out, hard-riding Low Rider S is back, and it’s sharper, stiffer and more powerful than its identical-looking, future-collectable Dyna-based predecessor. For cruiser fans and Harley devotees, that’s a $27,995 done deal. Enjoy the ride.
But not everybody feels that way – least of all the die-hard Dyna guys. They’re still mourning the loss of their beloved performance-oriented platform, distinguished by their exposed twin shocks and rubber-mounted engine, replaced two years ago by the all-new Softail. And that, right there, is their big beef: the new bikes – no matter how good they might be – are Softails, not Dynas.
