An estimated 1700 bikers congregated at the Ace Cafe on the North Circular Road to ride south to Rykas at Box Hill near Dorking during the August 20 Ride to Freedom event. It's never easy for Yamaha riders when they're up against more powerful bikes, but Jason O'Halloran gave it all he had and leaves his home round happy. WELCOME For all of us who derive active pleasure from the time we spend travelling along the King's highways, the subject of speed will always be a prickly and divisive one. TOP STORY Wales is set to become the first nation in the UK to introduce a default 20mph limit on residential and built-up roads, with legislation coming into force on September 17 in a bid to reduce pollution and cut the number of collision casualties. But many industry bodies feel that a blanket 20mph limit is not appropriate, favouring better enforcement and driver training. Debuting in 2022, the Lincolnshire Wolds Vintage Hill Climb will again take place in Scamblesby, just a few minutes from Cadwell Park. “People loved our first Vintage Hill Climb and there's nothing else quite like it in Lincolnshire,” Louth Rotary's Alan Curtis said. “So many people asked us if we'd do it again. “It raised over £5000 for our good causes and we hope that drivers, riders, and spectators will come along once again and support us. An unregistered 1977 Triumph Bonneville Silver Jubilee 750 that has covered just 7.7 miles in its lifetime climbed to £11,155 in an online auction with Car & Classic – but didn't reach its reserve and remains unsold.
