After seeing all of the beautiful blocks from last year and seeing host Angie Wilson's finished quilt in person at Quilt Market, I decided that this year I would sew along. I’ve pulled a lot of red swatches for this rough draft. I want to steer the reds toward the coral side. because I don’t care for the light reds that read almost pink. I also wanted to see what happens when I spin the dark reds toward the magenta side of dark red... I think I’m trying to make reds do too much in the combo so I’m going to narrow down my red palette. I do like the Kona Bordeaux dark red though, yum! Had I not played around with the purple side of red, I doubt I would have discovered how well it works with the teals.
