Flexible working is on the rise – but there’s a long way to go The number of highly-paid (£80k+) roles offering flexible working has trebled in the last four years, the Flexible Jobs Index revealed last week – although is still pretty woeful at 16%. Vacancies for jobs with a salary of £20k or under fare better, with more than a fifth offering flexible working. It’s middle-earners who are missing out most. Currently, just 14% of new roles in this bracket advertise the same benefits. Still, we are moving in the right direction. Home is above the pub I run with my brother – The Green Man in Eversholt, Bedfordshire. I live there with my husband Liam, who is a tree surgeon, and our three dogs, Dennis, Sybil and Albert.
