And when it comes to surfing, this wave on the Eisbach, which is a break-away man-made river off the Isar, is one of the most exciting waves the country has to offer. It’s surfed year-round, although preferably in summer. It has its challenges - the water is bone-clatteringly cold, and shallow, so it’s only for experienced surfers.
