Finding a saddle solution depends on your physiology, objectives and ride position, with different theories and solutions used by different manufacturers and fitters, all attempting to solve the conundrum. So, rather than cutting the carbs down completely, choose how you fuel depending on the session you’re doing. If it’s a highintensity session, short or long, then take on carbs to fuel it. Easy, low-intensity rides can be carb-fasted, because at lower intensities you’re able to still use fat as a source of energy, making the demand for carbohydrates less.
