If you’re not keen on the poetry and film-quote passwords suggested recently by readers (see Letters, Issues 617-619), you’ll instead need the services of a decent password generator. Your latest option, joining the likes of LastPass, KeePass and Bitwarden, is Apple’s ‘iCloud for Windows’.
The tool is mainly used for accessing on your Windows PC photos, videos and files you’ve saved on your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac etc), syncing them automatically. But Version 13, released in November, adds a password generator – simply click ‘Generate strong password’ as shown in our screenshot. The update follows Apple’s decision in August to allow Windows users to sync passwords through iCloud.
