THE M20 is the worst motorway in England, and the M11 is the best, according to a survey of more than 8,000 drivers by the independent watchdog, Transport Focus.
Drivers who frequent the M20, which runs through Kent from the M25 to Dover, gave it an overall score of just 62 per cent. Those familiar with the M11, which runs from the North Circular Road in London to Cambridge, graded it at 92 per cent.
The survey, which assessed the Strategic Road Network (SRN) of motorways and A-roads operated by Highways England, found that the A66, from Richmond, North Yorks, to Penrith, Cumbria, is the best major A-road, with a satisfaction rating of 90 per cent.
