The 2020 Festival of the Unexceptional (July 25) has a new venue – Grimsthorpe Castle near Bourne.
Organised by Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, the so-called ‘Concours L’Ordinaire’ each year gathers a host of models once common on UK roads, that now representing some of the rarest classics. Past winners of the award for the most unexceptional car included the likes of a Chrysler Alpine, Hillman Avenger, Datsun Cherry and, last year, Michael Carpenter’s 1977 Morris Marina 1.3 Deluxe estate. PC editor and one of the event judges, Danny Hopkins, reckons the festival is going from strength to strength. ‘What makes this event unique is the look on visitors faces when they see the cars – rare, classics that, once upon a time, sat on the driveways of millions of Brits.’…
