ASHEN Vishnudath, accused of robbing and killing a Reservoir Hills mechanic, was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment in the Durban High Court on Monday. Vishnudath, 30, of Stanton Street, was charged with the murder of Navendran Govender, 30, in 2019. Govender, a self-employed mechanic and car restoration specialist, ran a home-based business in Orleans Place in Reservoir Hills. At the start of the trial, the State alleged Govender often had large amounts of cash and due to this, Vishnudath devised a plan to rob and kill him. Those looking for decent edibles along the lines of speckled snapper, stumpnose and kingfish should aim for the reef/ledges in the far north. Roll the chicken in breadcrumbs and place in a greased casserole. Pour the leftover marinade over the chicken. Dot with butter and oil. Stir through the caramel treat to remove lumps, before folding into the cream. Flavour the cream/caramel mix with 1 to 2 drops of peppermint essence. 1-2 packets Tennis Biscuits slab of any mint chocolate (Peppermint Crisp/Mint Crisp/AeroMint) Layer the bottom of a casserole dish with Tennis Biscuits. Follow with a layer of the cream/caramel mix. Top with grated mint chocolate. Keep layering and end with the cream/caramel mix at the top. A SELF-EMPLOYED Phoenix father says justice has prevailed after he was acquitted of charges relating to the July unrest in 2021. Dinesh Chetty, 40, of Clayfield, was charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of robbery. It was alleged by the State that Chetty was responsible for a shooting in Mount Edgecombe on July 12, 2021. He was also charged with stealing cellphones. THE DA in eThekwini has requested the city’s management to investigate and account for the theft of copper pipes from the Tongaat Water Treatment Works. It is alleged that criminals broke into the Tongaat water works by cutting through the steel fence. This cut off the water supply to the chemical dosing system in the early hours of last Tuesday. This incident occurred exactly one year to the day after the same facility was flooded in April 2022, which destroyed most of the plant.
