“ Sports medicine, ingeneral, is a sub-discipline of medicine that focuses particularly on injury prevention, injury diagnosis, treatment and then rehabilitation,”Dr. Moshe Magethi explains by way of introduction into the scope of Sports Medicine Africa’s practice.
The organisation was founded in 2018 with the aim of providing quality and affordable care to black athletes and patients, while simultaneously striving to attain a standard that is on par with the leading sports medicine practices in the world.
Partnerships have since been developed with the Limpopo Academy of Sports and the University of Johannesburg, networks formed with physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians and others, while a number of satellite branches are in the pipeline in addition to Sport Medicine Africa’s headquarters in Randburg.
