BRITISH songbird Adele’s hit Million Years Ago sounds strikingly similar to one from a Brazilian composer, a judge in the South American country has ruled — and now a judge has ruled it be pulled from streaming services until it’s determined whether it’s a rip-off!
Toninho Geraes, 62, claims the track from Adele’s 2015 album 25 sounds too much like his 1995 samba hit Mulheres, and he’s seeking $160,000 in royalties and a shared songwriting credit.
The judge further ordered Sony and Universal to immediately stop “using, reproducing, editing, distributing or commercializing the song” by any means.
