EDD “KOOKIE” BYRNES, 87, who became a teen heartthrob in the TV hit 77 Sunset Strip from 1958-’64, and later starred as Vince Fontaine in the 1978 movie Grease, died Jan. 8 of natural causes at his Santa Monica, Calif., home.
