ROLY-POLY recluse Fats Domino is eating himself to death and has only months to live, fans fear.
Shattered by two devastating tragedies, the lonely 88-year-old rock ’n’ roll legend shut himself away in his New Orleans digs and hasn’t been seen in public for several years.
“His whole way of life ended,” says a friend. “It made him withdraw.”
Fats never recovered from Hurricane Katrina, the 2005 disaster that destroyed his home and Big Easy neighborhood.
He is also still mourning the death of his wife of 60 years, Rosemary, 77, who passed away in 2008, say sources.
“He’s missing her,” his granddaughter Charisse Smith says. “My grandmother was there for him every day, all day.”
