I’ve written about the revival of the compact camera on this page a few times recently because, firstly, it’s basically come out of nowhere which keeps us journalists intrigued. Secondly, it’s no flash in the pan because the numbers don’t lie, and the global sales figures are growing quite significantly month by month. And thirdly, compact cameras are great, especially the digital models which have extensive capabilities, but can still be pocket-sized… well, maybe jacket pocket size. It’s also great that cameras - real ones - are cool again and, in some quarters, a fashion accessory you simply can’t be without.
