Finding free camps along our magnificent coastline is getting harder, though. Its popularity as a destination has meant that councils are funnelling campers into expensive caravan parks and governments are taking over the land once managed by farmers.…

budget-conscious camping

Australia is a nation of campers. There’s nothing more we love to do than venture out and explore new places. This hobby can be expensive but there are steps you can go through to take out the sting. After all, the cheaper you can make camping, the more trips you can take, and that’s good news for us all. Budget camping can be fun; the satisfaction gained from setting a budget and sticking to it is priceless. And when you take out the option of paid entertainment, it’s amazing to see what kids and adults can do with just nature and their imaginations to guide them. WHAT3WORDS Next to each free campsite, you will see three words. These are the ‘three-word address’ created by what3words when they divided the whole world into 3m x 3m squares. While they may not make much sense to the average person, when inserted into the what3words app, the map will show you the location and how to get there. Even with no mobile phone signal, you can still view the location, but you will need a signal to share the location over the phone or via text, such as when in an emergency. The app can also connect with many other navigation apps. Check out what3words.com for more information. VICTORIA 1.
