The candidates are making a final push for votes in the US election, which takes place on 5 November. The two main candidates are Kamala Harris, who represents the Democratic Party, and Donald Trump, who is standing for the Republican Party. Harris is the country’s current vice-president, and Trump was president between 2017 and 2021.
In the US, most people have the option of voting early, either in person or by post. As The Week Junior was going to press on 30 October, more than 50 million Americans had already voted.
