Our dream of singing with our late mother came true
Madison Payne, 21, Perth, WA.
The beat kicked in and Mum’s beautiful voice started singing.
“Oh am I fooling you? Do you fall for it all, or do you just see right through?” she crooned.
I looked up and grinned at my sister, Sophie, five.
It was 2011, I was eight and we were playing in my bedroom with our friends, Flynn, 11, Jack, six, and another Sophie, three, while the adults jammed in the dining room.
My mum, Carine, 41, sang and played the piano and guitar, and our dad Alan, 45, played accordion.
Flynn, Jack and Sophie’s dad, Dave, sang and played guitar, too, and another friend Anna, played the double bass.
Those are some of my happiest…
