At the heart of the GP paddock for more than 35 years
At Silverstone, Pecco Bagnaia was all too human. The defending champion crashed on the Saturday, his fourth Sprint-race blunder; and on the Sunday he was only the third-best factory Ducati.
A fortnight later in Austria, he was close to divine. On Friday, a new all-time record. On Saturday, another one, albeit edged at the end by pole qualifier Jorge Martin. Then a dominant Sprint win.
On Sunday, more of the same, only better. As in the Sprint, he led every lap except the first, set a new race record, and perfectly controlled the pursuing Martin. The Spaniard had to settle for second.
