THE DUSTER’S INNOVATIVE MATERIAL choices, bold design and outstanding value impressed me initially, and while these factors are undoubtedly still valid, something’s been bugging me.
Our 130 4x4 model is a £26,000 car and, in today’s market, that’s a relatively low price for something that will take you just about anywhere. Step back to just 2018, though, and the Duster line-up began below £10,000, a whole £13,000 less than the entry-level model today. Inflation will have played a part in that, of course, but it can’t be held wholly responsible for an increase of this magnitude.
