I was faced with a harrowing dilemma ā save my husband or my kids Sitting at the table, my daughter Katie and I shuffled through jigsaw pieces.
āFound it!ā Katie, 17, beamed, pressing a corner piece in place.
Jigsaws were our thing.
Katie was our baby, with three older brothers Shaun, then 22, David, 21, and Ben, 19, and a loving stepdad Richard, 37.
That evening ā 13 October 2008 ā as Katie and I tackled a puzzle, a neighbour Stephen George-Davies was having a drink with Richard and Shaun.
Heād popped round to look at a litter of Staffie pups we were selling and, although we didnāt know him well, he seemed friendly.
David lived with his girlfriend, but Ben was there, too, and we all chatted.
