The site of Sunder Nursery lies on the five-centuries-old historic route of the Grand Trunk Road, on the eastern city fringes, beyond which flows the river Yamuna. It shares its southern boundary with the World Heritage Site of Humanyun’s Tomb and its Gardens. With a series of gardens, an artificial lake, an open air amphitheatre, an exhibition gallery, an interpretation centre, an arboretum, microhabitat zone, green house and plant nursery, the park provides experiences for contemplation, reflection and discovery. With more than 150 mature trees, scattered monuments, tombs, remains of structures, pavilions, wells and mosque platforms of the Mughal period, this “archaeological park” possesses a unique cultural heritage.
