TRUE-LIFE Ariel Hadsell, 30
Silence finally fell across the table as my kids tucked into the feast in front of them.
‘Delicious, as usual,’ I told my best friend, Monte, diving into the mac and cheese myself.
It was March 2019, and I’d known Monte, then 28, and his hubby, Mario, 29, a year.
We’d hit it off at my cousin Ashley’s party.
Now my hubby, Richard, then 27, and three kids, Destiny, then 7, Eli, 6 and Melanie, 8 months, would go to their place for dinner most weeks.
I loved the pair of them to bits, so did the kids.
During one dinner, Monte and Mario confided in me about their struggles.
‘We met in church,’ Monte smiled, his hand resting on his hubby’s.
Only, they’d been shunned…
